Greetings, tech addicts! π‘
Our fourteen-week tech-addict journey begins with an introduction of what this blog is all about.
As you already know from the gadgets that surround you on your desk, we are living in the Age of Technology where everyone is a tech user. Now you may ask what I mean by the term “tech.” The way I see it, tech is a piece of technology that is more personal, informing, and entertaining than a lamp. Or in other words, a medium for media content such as a device (laptop, smart phone, tablet, camera), a website, a mobile application, or even a video game.
Iβve always been a fan of technology and I don’t deny I am constantly on the grid. My parents often categorize me as an addict, though to my understanding, all teenagers and young adults nowadays are regular tech users, so it shouldn’t be coming as a surprise I am one too. But then again I questioned myself: can there really be a student who is not a tech zombie? With this blog I will try to answer exactly that. I have decided to search for a fellow student from AUBG whom I can challenge to last for a while without his or her favorite piece of technology. In the end I hope to find at least someone who will survive to explain the phenomenon.
In order to make the blog more interesting, I have planned to make the challenges different in terms of the target technology, the duration of the hellish period, and the target student’s standing and nationality. That way I will try to incorporate some personal feel to every story that I tell. I have also thought about challenging faculty members, though I’m not sure if that will work, I will try though.
Finally, I would ask all of you AUBGers who classify yourselves as tech addicts and who want to try out the #nogadgetforaweek challenge to contact me via the Facebook or Twitter pages of my blog. I would very much appreciate it and I promise not to show anyone in bad light. We are all tech addicts here, nothing to be ashamed of. π
Signing off.

The audio is nice but I think it will be better if it is just you presenting your blog, without somebody asking you questions!

I’ll be watching the challenge. BUT I couldn’t possibly accept the #nogadgetforaweek challenge – unless you allow me to ‘secretly’ use other people’s tech…

I think it is a great topic as the world now is based in technology. We all depend on our cellphones and laptops, and I hope that I would not be one of the people that will be chosen for this challenge as I have a really strong relationship with my laptop β€

I could probably go without my laptop for a week or two, but no way I can go without my phone (talking to people) π

I like the idea but be careful with the challenge. We don’t want to start a zombie apocalypse… at least not yet. π‘

I actually like the idea with your own hashtag. That is a great idea π Me and my friends usually do this challenge in the restaurant. Put all the gadgets in the middle of the table, the who pulls up the device first pays for the whole bill π Keep it up mate !
